Galena by Doris Chan

I began another project before completing all the others I'm halfway through. Shocker. But I'm really excited about this one! I was on Ravelry the other day and flipped through all the photos of finished Galena's. They all turned out so great! I've got to have one, and so I shall.

Another Mei-Mei

As you already know, I'm in love with Doris Chan's book Everyday Crochet, and I just can't stop making these cute little sweaters. Here is my latest one adding a little modesty to a strappy shirt.

Posh Pillows

What is a Posh Pillow you ask? Cassie from http://yougogirl.typepad.com/ knows all about it. The basic idea is a pillow case with an inner flap that covers up the ugly pillow end. To make it an even sweeter idea, add a crocheted scalloped edging to the open end. When I found the pattern on that blog I knew I had to try it, so I hopped in the car, went to Starbucks for coffee (slightly unrelated, but smart since you've gotta keep up the energy on a random craft hunt), and went to Joann Fabrics. Found it! I'm in love with the bird fabric, seriously. This craft was pretty easy and very fun but I discovered my true love is crochet, not sewing. Still, I'd do it again (and probably will).

Pot Holder and Coasters

Pot Holder (singular) isn't a typo. I've only made one, but I'm too excited to wait to show everyone! I mean seriously, how cute is this? It was made using a pattern from Crochet Today, as were the next project: Heart coasters! These coasters are lounging by the pool because they already did their years worth of work on Valentines Day (and because the lighting is better out there). It's vacation time until February 2011!

Crochet Thread Bracelets

I am completely obsessed with these crocheted bracelets. They take about an 1 1/2 hours to make and since crochet thread is available in so many bright colors the result is always fun =)

The first bracelet is the Julie Cuff from Blueprint Crochet
The Lotus Blossom Bracelets were made using a pattern by CreativeYarn

Look what I finished - Cinnabar - The Final Chapter

Ta-da! The moment you've all (or at least I've) been waiting for! The Cinnabar sweater is done. The sleeves were done, re-done, and re-re-done until they got to this point. I made a newbie mistake with hook size (kept the one from the edging, a size smaller than the body, when I began the sleeves) and it took me that whole time to realize it. Silly me, I paid for it. Sorry I couldn't provide an action shot (although it is blowing in the wind which is action, right?) but it doesn't fit me, it fits my mom, and she was too busy to get in a picture. That's okay though. One day when she least expects it, I'll capture that action shot and put it here where it belongs!
